Myanmar (Burma)
Myanmar is facing an intensifying crisis, as escalating internal conflict and climate disasters
wreak havoc across the country. Since the military coup in 2021, violence has surged, leading to
widespread displacement and insecurity. Nearly 3.2 million people are currently displaced within
the country, and the number of people in need of humanitarian aid has reached 19.9 million. As
conflict spreads across both urban and rural areas, essential infrastructure—already weakened by
war—is being further decimated by ongoing violence and extreme weather events, such as
cyclones and floods.
The healthcare system is on the brink of collapse, with over 1,500 attacks on health facilities
since 2021 and a significant cholera outbreak in 2024. The Helpers International continues to
support displaced communities by providing shelter, healthcare, and life-saving resources, while
addressing the challenges posed by restricted aid access and the ongoing conflict. Your support
helps bring vital relief to those trapped in the crossfire of war and climate disasters, providing
hope and the possibility of rebuilding in a country deeply affected by both internal strife and
external challenges.
